The operator-panel failures we see on the bench
A dead or unresponsive panel doesn’t mean a new HMI and a reprogramming job. Most failures are the screen, backlight or power section — all repairable, keeping your existing panel and configuration.
Unresponsive / drifting touch
Dead zones, ghost touches, drift or fully unresponsive screens. Touchscreen digitiser replacement and recalibration on resistive and capacitive panels.
Dim or dead backlight
Screen powers up but is dark, dim or flickering. Backlight (CCFL or LED) and inverter replacement to bring the display back to full brightness.
No power / failed PSU section
Panel completely dead, won’t boot, or restarts intermittently. Component-level repair of the internal power-supply section — failed caps, regulators and protection.
Cracked glass & LCD damage
Impact-cracked touch glass and damaged LCDs — common on the plant floor. Glass and LCD replacement where panels are still supported by parts.
Comms-port & connector damage
Damaged serial, Ethernet, USB and fieldbus ports, bent pins and broken connectors that stop the panel talking to the PLC. Port and connector rework.
Board-level & battery faults
Mainboard component-level repair, failed RTC/memory backup batteries, and corrupted boot caused by power-section faults. We fix the board rather than swap the unit.

About HMI & touchscreen repairs
My HMI touchscreen has dead spots / won’t respond — can you fix it?
Yes — unresponsive touch, dead zones and drift are usually a failed touch digitiser, which we replace and recalibrate. You keep the same panel and application, so there’s nothing to reprogram.
The screen is black but the panel still seems to be running — what is that?
Almost always a failed backlight or inverter. The HMI is still working; you just can’t see it. Backlight replacement is a common, quick repair for us.
Do I need to send my PLC program or will it be lost?
No — a screen, backlight or power-section repair doesn’t touch the application stored on the panel. For board-level or memory-related faults we’ll always tell you upfront if there’s any data risk so you can back up first.
