MacBook or iMac playing up? We fix Macs.
MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio — Apple Silicon and Intel. Cracked screens, batteries that won’t charge, liquid damage, logic-board faults, SSD upgrades, won’t-boot, macOS trouble. We’ve been repairing Apple computers for Irish customers for over 15 years.
The Mac faults we see every week
Not on the list? Bring it in anyway — we’ll have a look. Most diagnoses are turned around within a day.
Won’t turn on
Dead MacBook, black-screen iMac, no chime. Could be the battery, charging board, display or logic board. Free initial assessment to pinpoint the fault.
Battery won’t hold charge
“Service Recommended”, swollen battery, dies at 40%? We replace MacBook batteries safely and recalibrate — usually same or next day.
Cracked or faulty screen
Retina display replacements for MacBook Pro & Air, and iMac glass/panel repairs. Flickering, lines, dark spots, no backlight — sorted.
Liquid & water damage
Coffee, wine, water on the keyboard? Don’t turn it on — bring it straight in. We clean and repair at component level to save the board.
Logic-board faults
No power, no display, charging faults, GPU issues. Component-level micro-soldering in-house — the repair most shops send away, we do here.
Keyboard & trackpad
Sticky or dead keys, including the butterfly keyboards on 2016–2019 MacBooks. Unresponsive trackpads replaced too.
Slow / full storage
Spinning beachball, “disk full”, slow boot. SSD upgrades on Intel Macs and clean macOS installs bring older Macs back to life.
Overheating & fans
Hot to touch, fans roaring, shutting down? Usually dust and dried thermal paste. Full clean and re-paste service for MacBook and iMac.
Every Mac, from the latest Apple Silicon to older Intel models
MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro — M1, M2, M3 (Apple Silicon) and all Intel-era Macs. Not sure of your model? Bring it in or send us the serial and we’ll tell you exactly what’s possible.
What happens between “help” and “fixed”
-
1
Drop in or get in touch
Walk into our Mullingar shop, WhatsApp us, or post your Mac in. Whichever suits you.
-
2
Free initial assessment
We’ll bench-test, no charge. If it needs deeper board-level or data-recovery work, we’ll quote that separately before going further.
-
3
Honest quote
Parts, labour and a time estimate, in writing. Nothing happens until you say yes — and we’ll tell you honestly if a repair isn’t worth it.
-
4
Repair, test & collect
Standard repairs in 1–3 working days. We test the Mac fully before you collect — not just “does it boot.”
Real Apple engineers. Not a clearing house.
Free initial assessment
Bring it in. We’ll tell you what we think is wrong and what it’ll cost — before we touch anything.
No fix, no fee
If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the repair. We’ve kept that promise for 15+ years.
Component-level, in-house
Logic-board and micro-soldering repairs done here — the work most shops post away. Faster, and your Mac never leaves Mullingar.
12-month warranty
Every repair backed for 12 months. If our work fails, we re-do it — or refund — no questions asked.
About Mac repairs
Will I lose my data?
For most repairs — screens, batteries, keyboards, fans — your data stays exactly as it is. For a macOS reinstall or drive issue we’ll migrate or back up your data unless the storage is too damaged to read. Back up anything irreplaceable to iCloud or an external drive before dropping it in if you can.
How long does a Mac repair take?
Most diagnostics are turned around within a day. Common repairs — batteries, screens, SSD upgrades, fans — are usually 1–3 working days. Board-level work or hard-to-source Apple parts can take longer; we’ll give you an honest time estimate before we start.
Are you an Apple Authorised Service Provider?
No — we’re an independent repair shop, which is why we can often fix things (and at better value) that Apple would only replace. If your Mac is still under AppleCare or warranty, that should be your first call; otherwise, we’re here.
My MacBook has liquid damage — can you save it?
Often, yes — but act fast and don’t turn it on. We open it, dry it, clean the board and tell you honestly what’s salvageable. Free initial assessment; board-level work quoted separately if needed.
Is it worth repairing an older Mac?
Usually, yes. A battery, SSD upgrade or screen can add years to a Mac for a fraction of replacing it. We’ll give you an honest view on your specific model — or point you to a refurbished one if that’s better value.
Do you repair Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) Macs?
Yes — batteries, screens, ports, liquid damage and board-level diagnostics on Apple Silicon MacBooks, plus all Intel Macs. Note that storage is soldered on Apple Silicon, so we’ll advise on what’s possible for your model.
Can you recover data from a dead Mac?
Often, yes — see our data recovery page. Free initial assessment, cleanroom available for physical drive failures.
Do you repair Windows PCs too?
Yes — laptops, desktops and gaming PCs. See our computer repair page.
Post your Mac in — we’ll fix it and post it back.
Tracked courier both ways, free initial assessment when it arrives, written quote before any work begins. Most mail-in Mac repairs are turned around within 3–5 working days.
