Creative IT Hardware Warranty

1. General Warranty Coverage Creative IT provides a one-year limited warranty on all refurbished electronic devices sold, including laptops, PCs, smartphones, and tablets, in compliance with Irish consumer law. The warranty covers faults or defects arising from normal use, excluding those explicitly outlined in the exclusions section below.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

2. Duration of Warranty The warranty is valid for 12 months from the original purchase date. If a replacement or repair is provided under this warranty, the warranty period does not reset or extend; it continues from the original purchase date.

3. Warranty Exclusions The following circumstances and items are explicitly excluded from the warranty coverage:

Please note: If a device is returned using our free returns service and is found to have sustained physical damage, a collect-and-return fee of €25 will be charged before the device is returned.

  • Physical Damage: Any damage resulting from misuse, neglect, accidental damage, improper handling, or unauthorised repairs or modifications (e.g., cracked screens, liquid damage, or damaged ports) is not covered.

  • Battery Coverage: Batteries are not covered under this warranty unless a new battery is purchased with the device at the time of sale. In such cases, the battery warranty will align with the device’s warranty period.

  • Software Issues: The warranty does not cover software-related issues, including viruses, malware, corrupted operating systems, or user-installed software.

  • Consumables and Accessories: Items such as chargers, cables, cases, and other peripherals are not covered under this warranty unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of sale.

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Issues arising from normal usage, such as minor scratches, fading, or gradual performance decline, are not covered.

  • Third-Party Repairs: Any repair or modification carried out by unauthorised third parties will void this warranty.

4. Claims Procedure To make a warranty claim, the following steps must be followed:

  1. Contact Creative IT: Reach out to our customer service team via email or phone, providing the original proof of purchase and a description of the fault.

  2. Inspection: The device must be returned to Creative IT for inspection. The customer is responsible for any shipping costs associated with sending the device to Creative IT for inspection.

  3. Determination of Coverage: If the issue is deemed to fall within the terms of the warranty, Creative IT will repair or replace the device at its discretion.

  4. Return Shipping: If the warranty claim is approved, Creative IT will cover the cost of return shipping for the repaired or replacement device within Ireland.

5. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Creative IT shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data. Customers are advised to back up their data prior to sending devices for repair or replacement.

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of the device.

  • Delays in providing warranty services due to circumstances beyond Creative IT’s control, such as supply chain disruptions or unforeseen technical issues.

6. Statutory Rights These warranty terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish consumer law. If a product is found to be faulty, you have the right to repair, replacement, or refund in line with the Consumer Protection Act 2007 and the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980.

7. Modifications to Warranty Terms Creative IT reserves the right to modify these warranty terms at any time without prior notice, provided that such modifications do not reduce the rights of the original purchaser under the warranty terms effective at the time of purchase.

8. Governing Law These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
